I'm still on the road with my job, down in Florida 4 days a week..., BUT !!!! Better P.H.M.S. news has happened. AYE! Music Machine Studios found a MUCH BETTER place to park its gear and abilities, in Rochelle Park, right off RT 17, close to the famed Crows Nest! So now the swamp crew has two new watering holes, one for the ears, and one for the belly :) AYE! John is busy building out the new studio, lotza work to be done, but we now have a light at the end of the swamp! Recording will resume very soon (thanks to the musical gods that be) We believe in you John, Git er Done!
Ok, its November 26.... 2007... and I'm a total slacker...
I've been on the road with my job, down in Florida 4 days a week..., so time is slim at best these days for web stuff... BUT !!!! Major P.H.M.S. news has happened. ARRRGH!
Music Machine Studios has found a new home at the famed Boulevard Studios in New Milford NJ. John is in the process of finalizing all the garb, so were all waiting with baited swamp breath to git our asses back in the studio to finish the Album/Record/CD/Etc... what ever you call it today... We'll keep you posted !

Finally getting some web writing done...
Its been more than a few months...yheesh... my bad.
So, fer starters, in my opinion, our album is truly taking form... Take that for what its worth... but its starting to show real character, at least from my ears. Its beginning to sound like it should, like a "Killer Record" ! Everyone is contributing there best stuff, this is a great thang being born from Papa HooDoo and I cant wait for the release...
Were very close to finishing, but flood problems seem to be stretching it out. Music Machine Studios is in the process of relocating. Once that process is complete we will pick up where we left off... Good things take time.
And maybe this flood thang is part of the process... maybe the studio was supposed to become ingulfed with the swamp muds to insure it validity.... hmmm... Theres a concept...
Maybe we got more swamppayyy because of it ! Ha !!!!
All fun stuff either way,
were getting it done.

With the inundation of the Hackensack River due to the prolific downpour from last weeks storm, the wonderful Music Machine Studio of Jon Witte's has been destroyed! Fortunately, the band's recording efforts remained intact. Unfortunately, this will delay the completion of our 1st CD. . . . . Not to worry, Mr. Witte has a plan!

We have been hard at work in the studio, most of the basic tracks are done, and Poorbobs beard is long. On to production time! We should be done in the spring. Recording with John at Music Machine Studios is a great pleasure. John knows his gear, and has a good ear. hmmmm. Maybe there's a song in there somewhere...
Zombie

In the deep roots of the earth lives the Zombie. The spirit lives forever in the mist that rises from the ground. Zombie brings the earth up from the swamp, to smolder its smoke.

Earthly Green

Nature always engulfs over time. Earthly Green has grown, as expected... to be one of Papa HooDoo's premiere instrumentals. A moving piece of music with strong melodies and swamp tendenancies, this song floats like a lily pad.

Od'e to Mountain

Few musicians created a sound and style of there own. Leslie West is one of those rare musicians who did. Od'e to Mountain is a tribute to Leslie West and his band to celebrate the music of a true pioneer.

December 17, 2006 - Captain's Story

Across the open sea's, far into the myst, lives the spirit of the Captain. Venturing into un-chartered waters on his discovery of the world, his fate constantly at Neptune’s mercy. Still the Captain's direction always holds true to his course, One must believe their course is true in order for his crew to follow. Its all in a Captain's day.
Captains Story speaks of old sailors times on the high waters, where anything can happen in a heartbeat, and everything was at stake. Hard work and crap conditions for a good dollar, if they make a decent catch! This is the sailors way.

UMINUS
One of Papa HooDoo’s instrumental tunes came out absolutely killer at musicmachinestudios.com last week! This song originated from the good doctor who concocted a sick prescription of ripp'in melodies for the ailing bored jam band fan. From there it was thrown into swamp waters for attitude readjustments, a touch of mathematical music meyhem, and a ton of additional hoodoo rippage. The end result is a musical powerhouse that will rock your socks off! This song will “burn yer barn down”! Now put yer think'in cap on and ponder this fer a spell !
UMINUS - Conditions on the relationship between the bias and U
The definition above can lead to a negative uncertainty limit; e.g., if the bias is positive and greater than U, the upper endpoint becomes negative. The requirement that the uncertainty limits be greater than or equal to zero for all values of the bias guarantees non-negative uncertainty limits and is accepted at the cost of somewhat wider uncertainty intervals. This leads to the following set of restrictions on the uncertainty limits. Hmmmm. OK... So our formula does work!... for this song....

Recording is going very well, we just finished "On the One Hand" tonight. Great solo tracks with a lot of O'l tyme snap'in boogie in this number! Makes you feel like your back in time tak'in a ride in Papa's O'l truck!
"Dont forget to have a shot at the saloon while your in town there stranger!"
Written by Doc Lane with many embellishments from the Medicine Show this song has yesteryear written all over it. With a twist of "roaring twenties" and ripin tradeoff solo's at the end make this one of Papa's trademark songs. Make's you wanna do a soft shoe shuffle with a beautiful dame. Yeah baby... Yep, recording is going well...

Papa HooDoo Medicine Show is currently recording their debut CD at Music Machine Recording Studios!
Studio Owner/Engineer Jon Witte is co-producing the project with the band. Jon’s many years experience with a multitude of genres has helped the band to look at their music with a new angle. His keen insight brings great direction to the band’s music without changing the original feel of the songs. This chemistry is evident during pre-production and will continue throughout the recording process, which will make Papa Hoodoo’s debut CD shine like the moon on glistening swampy waters!
Be on the lookout for the release of this debut album sometime in the spring of 2007.
